Franklin

Background

The Division of Franklin takes its name from Sir John Franklin (1786-1847), Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania (1837-43). The three leaders are in this electorate which makes Franklin an interesting electorate.

Will Hodgman gained 20,000 first preference votes to gain two quotas at the 2010 State Election, this will ensure the Liberals pick-up two seats. However with the inclusion of MLC Paul Harriss this has put pressure on Jacquie Petrusma. The Premier should get re-elected. David O’Byrne will be hoping to have more primary votes than the third place Liberal in-order to avoid the chop. Nick McKim should regain his seat comfortably.
